In a major step to simplify travel, the Australian High Commission in Pakistan has unveiled a digital visa route via its Immi App, allowing eligible Pakistanis to submit their passport information and facial biometrics through their smartphones.

High Commissioner Tim Kane said this measure is particularly helpful for students, professionals, and travelers, saving both time and costs by cutting out in-person biometric appointments. To qualify, applicants must already have provided biometric data previously and possess a “biometric requirement” letter with a valid Visa Lodgement Number (VLN).
The app, which rolled out last year, is already active in 34 countries, with its global rollout expected to wrap up by early 2026. Officials say the launch marks a significant push by Australia to modernise its visa services and make them more accessible.
