A quietly held meeting between senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has sparked political controversy and renewed debate over internal coordination within the party. The controversy intensified after Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, publicly stated that the former premier’s family had no prior knowledge of the meeting.

The issue surfaced after claims circulated on social media suggesting Aleema Khan attended a meeting involving PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Mohsin Naqvi. Aleema rejected the reports and clarified that no family member was present, but her statement indirectly confirmed the meeting had taken place.
Barrister Gohar later confirmed the meeting but declined to disclose detailed discussions. PTI leaders maintained that the talks were limited to law and order issues, particularly the worsening security situation in Bannu and broader concerns in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Ali Amin Gandapur also stated that no political matters were discussed during the meeting.
Despite the clarification, the development has fueled speculation about possible backchannel communication between PTI and the government. Political analysts say the controversy has once again exposed communication gaps between PTI’s top leadership and Imran Khan’s family during a sensitive political period.
