Militants Blow Up Girls’ School in North Waziristan’s Mir Ali

Unidentified militants have destroyed a girls’ school in Eppi village, Mir Ali, in North Waziristan by planting explosives inside the building overnight, officials said. The blast completely demolished the only school in the area that served more than 250 female students, forcing learners from far-flung localities to travel for education.

Police confirmed the explosion occurred while the school was closed, so no casualties were reported, but the attack caused severe damage to public property and sparked panic in the community.

Local elders condemned the incident as an assault on children’s futures and urged the government to bring the perpetrators to justice. In response, the district administration has strengthened security at other schools and launched an investigation to identify and arrest those responsible.

This marks the latest in a series of militant attacks targeting educational institutions in the region.
