According to reports, electricity halted immediately after the downpours in key neighborhoods like Defence, Manzoor Colony, Akhtar Colony, Kashmir Colony, Shah Faisal Colony, Korangi, Baldia, Orangi, Surjani Town, and Taiser Town. Moreover, updates highlighted additional affected zones, including Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Liaquatabad, PECHS, Razzaqabad, Malir, Khokhrapar, New Karachi, Yousuf Goth, and Jacob Line. Furthermore, the outages extended to Model Town, Khawaja Ajmer Nagri, Godhra, SITE, and Ittehad Town, leaving thousands without lights, fans, or essential appliances during the humid evening.

Tragically, the power disruptions and flooded streets contributed to deadly electrocution incidents today. Two teenagers lost their lives when they came into contact with live wires during the downpour, highlighting the perils of exposed electrical infrastructure amid heavy rains. As a result, emergency services rushed to the scenes, but the swift action could not save the victims. Meanwhile, officials linked these deaths directly to the ongoing outages and water accumulation, echoing similar tragedies from earlier monsoon spells.

K-Electric officials attributed the shutdowns to safety protocols amid flooding and potential hazards from exposed wires. Therefore, repair teams worked tirelessly, but standing water delayed full restoration in low-lying areas. Additionally, the Pakistan Meteorological Department warned of continued intermittent rains, exacerbating the power woes.
