The Women’s Tennis Association of Pakistan (WTAP) and the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) held a meeting in Islamabad to discuss measures to promote and develop women’s tennis nationwide. The session focused on expanding opportunities for female athletes and strengthening grassroots participation in the sport.

The meeting took place at the PTF Tennis Complex and was chaired by PTF President Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi. Participants included WTAP President Asma Khawar Khawaja, Secretary General Zaira Ahmad Zaka, Treasurer Sarah Ibrahim Khan, and several former and current tennis players, officials, and sports administrators.
Discussions centred on organising more national tournaments, training camps, and development programmes specifically for young girls and women interested in tennis. Officials also reviewed preparations for Pakistan’s participation in the upcoming Billie Jean King Cup and stressed the need to provide better international exposure for female players.
Speaking during the meeting, Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi reaffirmed the federation’s commitment to supporting women’s tennis and encouraging greater female participation in sports. Participants praised the PTF’s efforts and agreed to work collectively to improve facilities, coaching opportunities, and competitive pathways for women in tennis.
The meeting reflects growing efforts within Pakistan’s sports community to strengthen women’s representation and create a more supportive environment for female athletes nationwide.
