PTI open to talks with government if Imran Khan is released

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has expressed willingness to hold dialogue with the government but made it clear that any negotiations would depend on the release of party founder and former prime minister Imran Khan from jail.

Speaking to the media, senior PTI leaders said meaningful talks could only take place if Khan was freed and allowed to participate in the political process. The party argued that genuine dialogue requires a level playing field and an end to what it described as politically motivated cases against its leadership.

PTI officials stated that the party remains committed to resolving political tensions through democratic means but insisted that negotiations without Khan’s involvement would not produce lasting results. The party also reiterated demands for transparent elections, legal relief for detained workers, and protection of constitutional rights.

The statement comes amid renewed speculation about possible political engagement between the government and opposition following months of heightened tensions, protests, and legal battles. Analysts believe backchannel communication between political stakeholders may already be underway as pressure grows for greater political stability.

Government officials have not formally responded to PTI’s latest conditions, though previous attempts at dialogue between the two sides have failed to produce a breakthrough.
