Finn Allen’s Record 33-Ball Century Sends New Zealand into T20 World Cup Final

New Zealand’s Finn Allen produced a breathtaking performance in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 semi-final, smashing the fastest century in tournament history to power the Black Caps into the final. Allen raced to an unbeaten 100 off just 33 balls, obliterating the previous record of 47 balls and helping New Zealand chase down 170 with 43 balls to spare against South Africa at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Joined by a strong opening stand with Tim Seifert, who scored 58, Allen’s explosive innings included 10 fours and 8 sixes, stunning the South African bowling attack and securing a dominant nine-wicket victory.

South Africa had earlier posted 169/8, with Marco Jansen’s 55 not out providing some resistance. However, New Zealand’s disciplined bowling restricted them after losing early wickets.

Allen’s historic knock not only broke records but also booked New Zealand’s place in the T20 World Cup final, where they will face either India or England.
