COLOMBO: The ICC Women’s World Cup match between Pakistan and New Zealand was Abondened due to persistent rain, with both teams sharing one point each.

The match was disrupted multiple times by rain after New Zealand chose to field first. Initially reduced to 46 overs per side, the game saw Pakistan’s top order struggle against disciplined New Zealand bowling.

Umaima Sohail managed only 3 runs, Muniba Ali scored 22, and Sidra Amin was dismissed for 9. Play was halted again due to rain, and when it resumed, Pakistan lost two more wickets.

By the end of 25 overs, Pakistan had reached 92 for 5, with Alia Riaz unbeaten on 28 and Sidra Nawaz not out on 6. However, further rain and a wet outfield prevented any more play, leading to the match being called off.

As a result, both Pakistan and New Zealand received one point each in the group standings.
