New York: Cristiano Ronaldo has once again Secured the top spot as the world’s highest-paid footballer in Forbes’ 2025 list, continuing his dominance both on and off the field.

The Portuguese star, currently playing for Saudi club Al-Nassr, earns a staggering $280 million annually. Close behind is his longtime rival Lionel Messi of Inter Miami, who brings in $130 million.

Saudi Arabia’s football revolution remains in the spotlight as Al-Ittihad striker Karim Benzema ranks third with an annual income of $104 million. French forward Kylian Mbappe follows with $95 million, while Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah rounds out the top five with $55 million.

For the first time, Spain’s teenage prodigy Lamine Yamal has entered the top ten, earning $43 million this year — an impressive achievement for such a young player.

Ronaldo’s continued reign at the top reflects not only his massive club salary but also his unmatched global brand appeal, which continues to generate millions through sponsorships and endorsements.
