Pakistan and the United States have agreed to undertake coordinated action against fraudulent visa networks, strengthening bilateral cooperation to curb illegal immigration and protect legitimate travel processes, officials said on Saturday. The agreement was reached during a meeting in Islamabad between Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and U.S. Charge d’Affaires Natalie Baker, where both sides discussed ways to enhance collaboration in areas of mutual interest, including law enforcement training and pre-immigration screening systems.

Under the new arrangement, Pakistan and U.S. agencies will launch joint operations under detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) targeting groups involved in fake and fraudulent visa activities. Naqvi said the government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against agent mafias and welcomed Washington’s support in combating visa fraud. He also noted that enhanced passport security features are making travel documents more secure and that illegal immigration has already fallen by about 47 percent as a result of recent government measures.
