Pakistan and Afghanistan have agreed to an immediate ceasefire; the Qatari Foreign Ministry has confirmed the ceasefire.

The Qatari Foreign Ministry says the ceasefire decision was made during talks in Doha. The ceasefire was agreed upon through mediation by Qatar and Turkey.

The two countries also agreed to hold more meetings in the next few days and to create a permanent mechanism for peace and stability.
