Ali Tareen has announced his decision to step down as owner of the Pakistan Super League’s Multan Sultans, citing his unwavering principles. In a heartfelt note to fans, he said he’s proud to represent South Punjab — a cause his late uncle, Alamgir Tareen, deeply valued.

Tareen emphasized that the franchise was never just a business to him, despite ongoing financial losses: “The Sultans have always meant more to me than mere numbers.”
He concluded with a powerful line: “I would rather lose this team while standing on my feet than run it from my knees. So this is goodbye.”
