Heated Exchange Between Federal Minister Aleem Khan and Senator Palwasha Khan in Senate Committee Meeting

Tensions flared during a Senate Standing Committee on Communications session when Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan and Senator Palwasha Khan engaged in a verbal confrontation that disrupted proceedings. The clash began after Aleem Khan told Palwasha to “shut up,” to which she sharply replied, “You shut up,” prompting astonishment among committee members.

Senator Pervaiz Rasheed attempted to defuse the situation, urging both politicians to calm down, but his efforts were initially unsuccessful. Palwasha challenged Aleem Khan’s tone and demanded a formal response or ruling on the matter, questioning whether asking about private housing society issues was improper.

Following the heated exchange, the committee chairman intervened, and after a brief pause, Aleem Khan apologised on the chair’s instruction, restoring order. The incident highlights rising tensions and sharp rhetoric in parliamentary committee discussions.
