Fully Funded Chevening Scholarships Now Open for Pakistani Students in 2025

The United Kingdom opened applications for its prestigious Chevening Scholarships, offering Pakistani students a chance to pursue fully funded one-year master’s degrees at top UK universities.

The highly competitive program, funded by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and partner organizations, targets mid-career professionals with at least two years of work experience (2,800 hours) who demonstrate leadership potential and a commitment to creating positive change in Pakistan.

The Chevening Scholarship covers tuition fees, round-trip flights, visa costs, a monthly stipend for accommodation and living expenses, and additional grants for academic needs.

Scholars gain access to world-class education at over 150 UK universities, including Oxford, Cambridge, and LSE, while building global networks and experiencing British culture.

The program, which began in 1983, has supported over 2,000 Pakistani scholars and nearly 60,000 worldwide, fostering a vibrant alumni network.

Applications are open from August 5 to October 7, 2025, and candidates must apply online via chevening.org/apply, selecting three eligible UK master’s programs and providing evidence of academic qualifications, work experience, and leadership abilities.

Eligibility requires Pakistani citizenship, an undergraduate degree equivalent to a UK 2:1 honors degree, and a commitment to return to Pakistan for two years post-study.

The selection process, which includes an online application, references, and interviews at British embassies, is merit-based but highly competitive, with only 2-3% of applicants selected globally.

Since its inception, Chevening has empowered Pakistani professionals in fields like public service, education, and media, with over 60% of last year’s scholars being women, reflecting the program’s commitment to diversity.
