Dar and General Aamer Raza Stress Close Coordination on National Security

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Commander National Strategic Command General Syed Aamer Raza have discussed national security and regional developments during a meeting in Islamabad.

General Aamer Raza called on Dar at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where the two exchanged views on regional and international developments, according to the Foreign Office.

The officials agreed that close institutional coordination is important to advancing Pakistan’s national interests and contributing to regional peace and security.

Dar also congratulated General Aamer Raza on his promotion and appointment as Commander of the National Strategic Command and wished him success in his new responsibilities.

General Aamer Raza became the first Commander of the National Strategic Command after assuming charge in July. The position was created as part of changes to Pakistan’s higher military command structure.

The meeting comes amid heightened regional security concerns, as Pakistan continues to engage international partners on developments affecting national and regional stability.
