Saudi-Led Coalition Says It Destroyed Depot Housing 20 Ballistic Missiles in Yemen

The Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen says it has destroyed a weapons depot in the country’s northwest that was reportedly storing 20 ballistic missiles.

According to the coalition, the facility was located in Saada province, a stronghold of Yemen’s Houthi movement. The operation was carried out as part of ongoing efforts to target what the coalition described as Houthi military infrastructure.

Coalition officials said the depot contained ballistic missiles and other military equipment that could pose a threat to Saudi Arabia and other countries in the region.

The Houthis, who control much of northern Yemen, have previously launched missiles and drones toward Saudi Arabia and other regional targets. The group has also carried out attacks linked to the wider regional conflict.

The latest strike comes amid continuing tensions in Yemen despite years of international efforts to reach a lasting political settlement.

The Saudi-led coalition has repeatedly said its military operations are aimed at protecting regional security and preventing the Houthis from acquiring or using advanced weapons.

Independent verification of the reported damage and the number of missiles destroyed was not immediately available.
