Saudi Arabia Wants “Strong, Positive” Relationship With UAE, Foreign Minister Says

Saudi Arabia has reaffirmed its desire to maintain a “strong, positive” relationship with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) amid recent diplomatic strains linked to Yemen and other regional issues, the kingdom’s foreign minister said on Monday. Prince Faisal bin Farhan made the comments at a press briefing in Warsaw, describing stable Saudi-Emirati ties as “essential” for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and broader regional stability. He added that Abu Dhabi’s decision to withdraw its forces from Yemen—if fully implemented—would underpin efforts to restore trust and cooperation between the two neighbours.

Saudi Arabia and the UAE are both key players in Middle East diplomacy and trade, and their partnership has traditionally been strong despite recent tensions over Yemen policy and strategic interests. Riyadh’s comments signal a push to ease friction and reinforce economic, security, and political collaboration in the Gulf region.
