Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has been given an important new role within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), overseeing both the Pakistan Shaheens and the Under-19 national team. According to reports, Sarfaraz will work closely with coaches and join team tours, allowing him to directly supervise training programs, player development, and strategic planning for upcoming competitions.

The appointment is seen as a significant step forward in Sarfaraz’s post-captaincy career and a valuable opportunity for emerging players. His involvement—especially at the U19 level—is expected to bring leadership, discipline, and experience that could help shape the next generation of Pakistani cricketers.
This move also highlights PCB’s renewed focus on strengthening its pathways system by integrating seasoned former players into key development roles.
