In an effort to challenge or even overtake Google Chrome’s market domination, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman today unveiled ChatGPT Atlas, an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered web browser.

In a live presentation, OpenAI Chief Sam Altman stated that this is a ChatGPT-based, AI-powered web browser.
They say that this browser is now available globally on Apple’s operating system, macOS and will soon be available on Windows, iOS, and Android.
Following the introduction of this new browser, shares of Alphabet, the company that controls the Chrome browser, dropped 2.6% in afternoon trade today.
As businesses add features that can summarize web pages, fill out forms, and draft code to engage users, the product is the newest entry to the quickly expanding AI browser market, which also includes Perplexity’s Comet and Opera’s Neon.
