Lie upon lie, Afghan claim of attack on Islamabad hotel during ceasefire also misleading

False, misleading, and unsubstantiated news keeps spreading in the midst of the conflict between Pakistan and Afghanistan, similar to the time of war against India.

Another news story released by Indian and Afghan social media accounts, claiming an attack on a hotel in Islamabad, turned out to be baseless and fake.

Several videos and photos are circulating on various social media platforms, claiming that Afghans successfully attacked Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, yesterday and destroyed a private hotel.

News circulating on social media claimed that an attack had been launched on the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad, where a meeting of Pakistani army officers was taking place. So far, 12 Pakistani army personnel have been killed, and fighting is still ongoing.

According to social media posts, half of Islamabad is plunged into darkness, and intense clashes are currently underway in the city.

However, there is no truth in the news about the Islamabad attack on social media. No attack was carried out on a private hotel in Islamabad this month, nor did any Pakistani soldiers die as a result of these attacks. The investigation revealed that the circulating news is misleading, in which the 2008 attack on the Marriott Hotel is described as a recent attack under propaganda.

There has been no recent attack on the capital of Pakistan, while the hotel is open as usual and safe. All the news circulating is part of Indian and Afghan propaganda which has no relation to reality. There is currently a ceasefire between the two countries.
