With Eid-ul-Adha around the corner, Karachi is taking a strong security plan under the guidance of Additional IG Karachi Javed Alam Odho, providing strict safety checks in the mosques, Imam Bargahs, and Eidgahs in the city. An impressive force of more than 15,743 police officers and officials has been put in place to secure the city during the celebration period.
Key Locations and Zonal Deployment In The City
The Eid-ul-Adha prayer security deployment is dispersed strategically throughout the zones in Karachi.
The East Zone will have 4,091 personnel on duty.
The South Zone will have 4,187 personnel.
The West Zone will be covered by 3,484 personnel.
Outside prayer centers, another 3,981 officers and jawans will be deployed at sacrificial hide collection points and other vulnerable areas within the city. This is to ensure that no untoward incidents occur during the process of collecting hides.
Increased Patrolling and Surveillance
To strengthen patrolling and response strength, the security strategy is enlisting the deployment of considerable resources.
5,105 pickets will be posted across the city.
590 police mobiles will be out patrolling.
1,340 motorbikes will be used for rapid mobility and observation.
Security notices have also been sent to all principal markets, malls, and other public places, ensuring tight security in populated areas.
The leadership of Karachi Police has reiterated its resolve to use all means possible for the safety of citizens’ lives and property. Traffic Management and Public Appeal
With the possibility of more traffic on Eid, the Karachi Police Chief issued special orders to the Traffic Police. The instructions are aimed at ensuring an unbroken flow of traffic so that congestions are avoided and smooth public movement is ensured.
