The Supreme Court of Pakistan will hear eight post-arrest bail appeals from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan tomorrow, July 29, 2025, at 9:30 AM.
A two-member bench, led by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi and including Justice Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui, will preside over the high-profile case linked to the violent May 9, 2023, riots.
These appeals challenge the Lahore High Court’s (LHC) June 24, 2025, decision to reject Khan’s bail in cases tied to protests that erupted after his arrest.
Khan, through his lawyer Advocate Salman Safdar, argues the charges lack evidence, noting he was in National Accountability Bureau (NAB) custody during the riots, making his involvement impossible.
Khan’s petition, filed on July 26, 2025, highlights inconsistencies in the prosecution’s claims. It alleges the police presented conflicting narratives about his role in inciting the riots, all of which courts previously rejected.
The petition calls for a deeper probe, arguing the prosecution’s failure to establish a credible link entitles Khan to bail.
