Health Minister Mustafa Kamal Says He Keeps Ministry “Under His Shoe Tip”

Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal sparked strong reactions on Monday, saying he keeps his ministry “under the tip of his shoe,” indicating total control and confidence in his leadership. Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, Kamal highlighted the city’s economic importance, noting that over 50% of Pakistan’s exports originate from Karachi, and stressing that fixing the city’s issues is essential for national progress.

He criticised local governance systems, calling them ineffective, and raised concerns about the lack of clean drinking water in 90% of Karachi’s areas. Kamal also urged attention to health-sector reforms and systemic problems rather than just political blame games.

The minister’s bold remarks triggered mixed reactions as debates continue over Karachi’s infrastructure challenges and governance accountability.
