Pakistan Customs has intercepted around Rs 110 million worth of gold jewellery and foreign currency from two alleged smugglers at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, the Collectorate of Customs reported.

Authorities stopped two women in the international departure hall. From one, they recovered $6,143 and 2 kg of gold, and the other was found carrying $5,746 and 1.05 kg of gold.
The jewellery and currency were confiscated, and the customs preventive staff issued formal detention receipts. An FIR has been lodged against both passengers for smuggling in violation of customs laws.
This operation underscores the ongoing efforts by Pakistani customs agencies to crack down on the smuggling of precious metals and foreign currency through international airports.
