The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Sindh, alongside federal intelligence agencies, has dismantled a large network linked to India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) in Karachi. This joint operation, announced on Saturday, 23 August, uncovered an intricate plot involving targeted killings, exposing foreign-backed terrorism in Pakistan’s largest city. Consequently, authorities are intensifying efforts to safeguard national security.
The operation, conducted in Karachi, exposed a network responsible for the targeted killing of a citizen in Matli, Badin, on May 18, 2025. According to CTD Sindh’s Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Azad Khan, the group operated under the direction of Sanjay Sanjeev Kumar, alias Fauji, an Indian agent based in a Gulf state. Investigators revealed that Kumar orchestrated the murder plot, hiring Salman, a Sheikhupura resident, to execute it. Additionally, the network received substantial funding from RAW, along with logistical support, including weapons and communication tools.
During the raids, authorities arrested multiple suspects and seized critical evidence, such as firearms, motorcycles, and mobile phones used in the crime. These items directly linked the group to RAW’s operations, confirming their role in destabilizing activities.
