FIFA has announced a record-breaking prize fund for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, set to be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19. The tournament winner will receive $50 million in prize money, marking a significant increase from previous editions as part of a larger $655 million distribution shared among all 48 participating nations.

The total prize pool reflects almost a 50 percent rise compared to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Runners-up are expected to get $33 million, third place $29 million, and fourth $27 million, while teams exiting in the group stage will each receive $9 million.
Every qualified team will also receive $1.5 million to cover preparation costs, ensuring even smaller nations benefit financially from the expanded 48-team format.
