Following the directives of Provincial Minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla, the Sindh Excise and Taxation Department’s ongoing road-checking campaign continues to yield significant results in tax recovery across the province.
A spokesperson for the Excise and Taxation Department today released the details of the road-checking campaign conducted from May 1st to May 15th. According to the released data, a total of 18,206 vehicles were inspected throughout Sindh during this two-week period.
The spokesperson further stated that during the road-checking campaign, a substantial amount of PKR 12.833 million was recovered in Motor Vehicle Tax. Additionally, fines exceeding PKR 786,000 were imposed on tax defaulters encountered during the same campaign. In total, the Excise and Taxation Department successfully collected PKR 13.619 million in Motor Vehicle Tax and fines during the first half of May, as confirmed by the department’s spokesperson.
