Karachi: In a horrifying incident, a father brutally killed his two young daughters in North Nazimabad’s Kausar Niazi Colony early Monday morning.

According to police officials, the accused, identified as Akbar son of Abdul Sattar, was arrested from the scene, and the murder weapon was recovered. The victims, identified as Zainab and Alia, were 10 and 11 years old. Police said the accused has five daughters and one son.

SHO Haideri Market Police Station, Adeel Ahmed, while speaking to the media at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, said the incident was reported shortly after 7 a.m. Police reached the location promptly, arrested the suspect, and seized the weapon used in the crime.

During interrogation, the accused confessed that he killed his elder daughter after finding out she had been speaking to someone on her mobile phone. When the younger daughter witnessed the murder, he killed her as well to silence her.

Police sources said the accused told investigators that despite repeated warnings, his elder daughter continued using the mobile phone to communicate with someone. The younger daughter, who was awake at the time, saw him commit the murder, prompting him to kill her too.

After completing postmortem procedures, the bodies of both sisters were handed over to their elder brother. Initial medical reports indicate that the cause of death was strangulation with a sharp object. Forensic samples have been collected for chemical examination, and police say the detailed forensic report will determine further facts about the crime.
