Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has launched Pakistan’s first artificial intelligence-powered digital platform designed to replace paper-based operations in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), marking a significant step toward modernizing government administration.

Named the Prime Minister’s Office System (PMOS), the platform integrates artificial intelligence into official workflows to streamline communication, monitor implementation of government directives and support data-driven decision-making. Officials described it as the first government platform in Pakistan to place AI at the core of governance and implementation oversight.

According to the briefing given to the prime minister, PMOS has been developed to ensure faster communication of directives across federal ministries and departments while enabling timely execution of government initiatives in line with established quality standards. The system also serves as a secure digital decision-support platform by combining structured information with advanced analytics in a protected IT environment.

The initiative forms part of the government’s broader Digital Nation Pakistan agenda, which seeks to improve efficiency, transparency, and accountability through technology-driven governance. Officials believe the AI-enabled platform will reduce paperwork, accelerate administrative processes, and strengthen coordination across government institutions.

The launch reflects Pakistan’s growing focus on digital transformation and the adoption of emerging technologies to modernize public administration and enhance service delivery across the federal government.
