Central Superior Services (CSS) 2025
The FPSC’s public notice, issued on August 22, 2025, detailed that 18,139 candidates applied for the CSS 2025 written exam, held from February 15 to February 23, 2025. However, only 12,792 appeared for the test, and a mere 354 passed, achieving a pass rate of 2.77%.
This aligns with historical trends, as the CSS 2024 exam saw a similar 2.53% pass rate, with 395 out of 15,602 candidates succeeding. Moreover, the FPSC noted that results for rejected candidates remain withheld under Rule 16(6) of the CSS Competitive Examination Rules, 2019, ensuring compliance with established protocols.
The CSS exam, administered annually by the FPSC, tests candidates on six compulsory subjects—Everyday Sciences, English (Précis & Composition), Essay, Current Affairs, Islamiat, and Pakistan Affairs—along with optional subjects, totaling 600 marks. Additionally, the exam’s intensity, with two papers per day and no breaks, demands exceptional time management and academic rigor. As a result, only the most dedicated candidates advance to serve in prestigious roles like the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), Police Service of Pakistan (PSP), and Foreign Service.

The FPSC will soon notify the 354 successful candidates about the schedule for medical examinations, psychological assessments, and viva voce interviews, which are critical for final selection.
