Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has expressed hope for peace and stability in Iran during a recent phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Office said on Saturday. According to an official statement shared on X, the two diplomats discussed the current situation in Iran and the wider region, agreeing to keep bilateral consultations ongoing on matters of mutual interest amid regional challenges.

Dar’s remarks underscore Islamabad’s desire for calm as Iran navigates widespread protests and economic pressures that have stirred tensions domestically and internationally. Pakistan earlier voiced similar sentiments at the United Nations Security Council, hoping for a swift return to normalcy in its neighbour.
The Foreign Office also highlighted that instability in Iran does not serve Pakistan’s interests, stressing that peace and stability next door are crucial for regional security and cooperation.
