Pakistan Security Forces Neutralize 19 Terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Operations

Pakistan’s security forces launched a series of decisive strikes against terrorist networks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), killing 19 militants in three intelligence-based operations on September 9 and 10, 2025. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced the results on September 11, highlighting the forces’ commitment to rooting out extremism. This action targets the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which the military labels as “Fitna al Khwarij” and accuses of receiving foreign backing, particularly from Indian proxies.

Security forces conducted the first operation in Mohmand District, where intelligence reports pinpointed a group of terrorists. Troops engaged the militants in a fierce firefight, eliminating several key figures linked to multiple attacks. Meanwhile, in North Waziristan, forces intercepted a band of TTP operatives attempting to infiltrate from Afghanistan. The clash resulted in heavy casualties for the terrorists, with security personnel recovering weapons and explosives from the site. Additionally, a third engagement in Dera Ismail Khan targeted a hideout, where forces neutralized the remaining militants after a prolonged exchange of fire.

The ISPR emphasized that all 19 terrorists played active roles in recent bombings and assaults on civilians and military outposts. For instance, some belonged to squads responsible for ambushes along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Security teams recovered a cache of arms, including rifles, grenades, and IED components, during the raids. However, no Pakistani personnel suffered losses in these encounters, a testament to the forces’ tactical superiority. Consequently, sanitisation operations now sweep the areas to hunt down any surviving threats, ensuring long-term stability.
