Pakistan and Saudi Arabia Agree to Expand Cooperation in Media, Culture and Tourism

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to strengthen cooperation in media, broadcasting, culture, tourism, and public relations following a meeting between Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar and Saudi Ambassador Dr Rajeh Tami Albugamy in Islamabad on Tuesday.

During the meeting, Tarar highlighted opportunities for collaboration in television dramas, music, tourism and people-to-people exchanges. He proposed introducing Pakistani television dramas in Saudi Arabia, saying they reflect family values, Eastern traditions and Islamic culture.

The minister also suggested exchanging delegations of writers, poets, artists, musicians, media professionals, and digital content creators to strengthen cultural links between the two countries.

Highlighting Pakistan’s tourism potential, Tarar invited Saudi media representatives, tourists, and digital influencers to explore the country’s natural beauty and historical destinations.

Both sides also discussed cooperation to counter misinformation, improve fact-checking, and develop joint initiatives reflecting their shared cultural values. Tarar proposed forming a joint working group to turn these ideas into practical steps.

The Saudi ambassador welcomed further collaboration in cultural events, arts, literature, and media, describing the longstanding relationship between the two countries as a source of pride.
