Dubai: On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, UAE authorities will conduct an international exercise called the “IOWAVE25 – Indian Ocean Tsunami Simulation Exercise,” according to a public advisory released by the Ministry of Interior.
The exercise, which will begin at 10:00 am in Fujairah’s Qidfa Beach, will mimic emergency response procedures to improve readiness for possible tsunami incidents.
To replicate a coordinated reaction to tsunami-related incidents, the exercise will include evacuation operations, vehicle movements, and emergency team mobilization.
According to authorities, the purpose of the exercise is to increase coordination, fortify readiness, and guarantee community safety throughout the United Arab Emirates.
The Ministry urged the people to adhere to official standards and remain aware of safety instructions throughout the drill, highlighting that it is a proactive step to create a safer and more secure neighborhood.
