GAZA: The Israeli army has imposed a complete ban on the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, in another clear violation of the ceasefire agreement brokered by the United States earlier this month.
According to Israeli media, the government has directed the military to halt all aid shipments into Gaza “until further notice,” citing alleged violations of the ceasefire by Hamas. The move has raised fears of worsening the humanitarian crisis in the besieged enclave, where millions are already struggling with shortages of food, medicine, and clean water.
The decision follows a series of heavy Israeli airstrikes that struck multiple areas across Gaza, killing at least 20 Palestinians. The Israeli army claimed the attacks were carried out in response to what it called Hamas’s breach of the ceasefire early Sunday morning.
The fragile truce, brokered by U.S. President Donald Trump on October 10, had ended a brutal two-year conflict between Israel and Hamas. However, continued airstrikes and now the blockade of aid threaten to collapse the ceasefire altogether.
Local media reported that Israeli artillery also shelled the eastern areas of Khan Younis, including Abbasan and Al-Zinah, further escalating tensions and deepening Gaza’s humanitarian emergency.
Aid organizations have warned that the suspension of relief supplies could have catastrophic consequences for civilians, especially children, who make up nearly half of Gaza’s population.
