FBR Issues Notices to 30 Social Media Influencers for Tax Evasion

FBR has issued official notices to 30 social media influencers who flaunted luxury lifestyles—expensive clothes, homes, cars, and even horses—yet under‑reported their income or failed to file taxes.

According to FBR Chairman Rashid Langrial, the crackdown is part of a broader enforcement push under the newly established “Lifestyle Monitoring Cell,” cracking down on individuals whose visible wealth does not match their tax filings.

A new Chief Commissioner for Enforcement has been appointed to coordinate this nationwide operation, with daily reports being compiled to track ongoing cases.

The move signals that social media fame and online influence no longer protect individuals from accountability: flaunting lavish living may expose influencers to serious scrutiny under Pakistan’s tax laws.
