Sarfraz Bugti, the Chief Minister of Balochistan, condemned the decades-long conflict affecting the region, stating that the Baloch community was dragged into a “pointless war.” He urged militants and dissidents to surrender peacefully—emphasizing that the state has “left the door open” for those willing to return without fear of retaliation.

Bugti announced that around 100 former insurgents recently surrendered in the Dera Bugti area, handing over weapons and opting for rehabilitation instead. He described the development as a welcome milestone for peace, calling on others still involved in armed struggle to abandon violence and embrace normal life.
He further urged all political and security actors to prioritize Balochistan’s development and coexistence over divisive narratives, insisting that the region belongs to its people—not to conflict.
