Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met with Royal Saudi Land Forces Commander Lieutenant General Fahad Bin Saud Al‑Johani at Pakistan’s General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, where both sides expressed confidence in the “robust defence collaboration” between Pakistan and the Kingdom.

During the high-level talks, Pakistan’s army chief commended the depth of cooperation, highlighting ongoing joint training, intelligence sharing, and operational coordination efforts. The Saudi commander, in turn, praised the professionalism of the Pakistani Armed Forces and reiterated Riyadh’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral military ties.
This meeting comes on the heels of the recently signed Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement (SMDA) between the two countries—an accord defining any aggression against one as aggression against both, underlining Islamabad and Riyadh’s resolve to escalate strategic cooperation amid shifting regional security dynamics.
The renewed engagement underscores Pakistan’s role as a key strategic partner to Saudi Arabia and signals a deepening in defence and security collaboration that both sides say is critical for regional stability.
