US President Donald Trump stated that he wants Saudi Arabia to join the Abraham Accords, which will normalise diplomatic relations between Israel and some Arab states, and that he expects the agreement to be expanded soon.

“I hope Saudi Arabia joins, and I hope others join as well. In an interview that aired on Fox Business Network on Friday, Trump stated, “I believe that when Saudi Arabia enters, everyone enters.”
As recently as Wednesday, Trump claimed to have had “some very good conversations” with states that had expressed interest in joining the accords.
In the interview, which was taped on Thursday, Trump stated, “I think that they’re going to all go in very soon.”
In 2020, during Trump’s first term in office, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain signed the agreements, shattering a long-standing taboo to become the first Arab nations to recognise Israel in 25 years. Sudan and Morocco did the same.
Trump has offered his idea to halt the assault in Gaza as the impetus for a broader regional peace accord. Trump met with Muslim and European leaders in Egypt on Monday to discuss the future of the Gaza Strip.
He then declared that additional nations will join the Abraham Accords movement and even suggested that Israel and Iran, longtime adversaries in the Middle East, could reach a peace agreement. He told the Israeli parliament that he believed Iran desired one, saying, “Wouldn’t it be nice?”
The interview was aired on “Mornings with Maria” on FBN.
