Father Kills Daughter, Three Grandchildren In Multan

On Friday, August 8, 2025, police in Multan, Pakistan, arrested Muhammad Waris, also known as Waris Khokhar, for the horrific murder of his 36-year-old daughter, Irshad Bibi, and her three young children in Basti Malook, Chak No. 14 Faiz.

The victims, identified as 2-year-old Mohabbat Ali, 2-year-old Ahmed Ali, and 2-month-old Mehnaz, died after Waris allegedly slit their throats with a knife during a heated family dispute.

Irshad had moved to her father’s residence two months earlier after a disagreement with her husband, Muhammad Boota. Waris, enraged over his daughter’s court marriage to Boota, which he had opposed for six years, attacked Irshad and her children.

Boota, the complainant, reported that Waris refused to let Irshad and the children return home despite reconciliation attempts.

On the day of the incident, Boota and relatives arrived at Waris’s house, heard screams, and broke into a locked room to find the bodies. Waris, who had locked himself inside with the victims, attempted to attack Boota before neighbors intervened.

Police responded swiftly, arrested Waris, and recovered the knife used in the killings. They shifted the bodies to Nishtar Hospital for autopsies.

Waris confessed to the murders, citing his resentment toward his son-in-law as the motive, according to the investigation officer.

The case, registered under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code, remains under investigation, with Waris in custody awaiting court proceedings
