Pakistan warns UN of Israel’s “systematic annexation” of occupied West Bank

Pakistan has voiced serious concern at the United Nations over what it described as Israel’s “systematic annexation” of the occupied West Bank, warning that continued settlement expansion threatens regional peace and undermines international law.

Speaking during a UN session on the Palestinian issue, Pakistan’s representative condemned Israeli actions in the occupied territories, arguing that ongoing land seizures and settlement construction are aimed at permanently altering the demographic and geographic reality of the West Bank. Pakistan urged the international community to take immediate steps to halt what it called illegal occupation policies.

Officials stressed that Israeli settlements violate multiple UN resolutions and international legal principles, while also reducing the possibility of a viable and independent Palestinian state. Pakistan reaffirmed its support for a two-state solution based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the capital of a future Palestinian state.

The statement comes amid rising tensions in the region and growing international criticism over settlement expansion and military operations in Palestinian territories. Pakistan also called on the UN Security Council to ensure accountability and protect Palestinian civilians from further displacement and violence.

The remarks reflect Islamabad’s longstanding diplomatic position in support of Palestinian self-determination and opposition to Israeli occupation policies in the region.
