Yemen’s Houthi movement has claimed responsibility for a missile strike targeting Saudi Arabia, marking a significant escalation as the wider Middle East conflict continues to intensify.

According to Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree, the group launched a missile attack aimed at a strategic target in the Saudi city of Jeddah. The Houthis said the strike was carried out in support of their allies and warned that further attacks could follow if hostilities in the region continue. Saudi authorities had not immediately confirmed the extent of the reported strike or any resulting damage.

The claimed attack comes amid rising military tensions involving the United States, Iran, and Iran-backed armed groups across the Middle East. Recent exchanges of strikes have heightened concerns that the conflict could spread beyond its current theatres, threatening regional stability and key international shipping routes.

The Houthis have repeatedly launched missiles and drones targeting Saudi Arabia and vessels in the Red Sea, saying their operations are linked to broader regional developments.
