Bollywood icon Ajay Devgn has reacted thoughtfully after his wife, Kajol, sparked debate by suggesting that marriages should have an “expiry date” and a renewal option. On her talk show Two Much with Kajol & Twinkle, Kajol argued that a set term would prevent long-term unhappiness: “If there’s an expiry date, then we don’t have to suffer for too long.”

In response, Ajay—speaking with R. Madhavan during a YouTube interview for De De Pyaar De 2—expressed concern about today’s perception of love. He said the word “love” is overused and has become too casual, adding that “it has lost its meaning.”
He compared modern love to the unconditional affection people have for their pets, saying, “The problem is that you love your pets because you know they won’t ask for anything in return.”
