Punjab Education Minister Hands Over His Post to Student on International Children’s Day

In a unique gesture to mark International Children’s Day, Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat handed over his official responsibilities to a student for an entire day. The symbolic move aimed to highlight children’s rights, promote youth empowerment, and encourage students to imagine themselves as future leaders.

The selected student, invited to the minister’s office, was briefed on daily administrative duties and even participated in decision-making discussions with senior officials. The initiative was designed to give young people firsthand exposure to how the education department functions and to inspire them to take an active interest in public service.

The minister said the activity reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring that children are heard, valued, and included in important conversations. He added that such steps help boost students’ confidence and encourage a culture where young voices shape the future of education in Punjab.
