‘Pakistan Zindabad’ Wi-Fi Triggers Chaos in Karnataka Bank

A stampede broke out at a private bank in Bengaluru, in the Indian state of Karnataka, after the bank’s Wi-Fi ID was changed to “Pakistan Zindabad.”

According to Indian media reports, a man named Govardhan Singh lodged a complaint with the police after noticing the suspicious Wi-Fi name two days ago.

The complainant is said to be affiliated with Bajrang Dal, the youth wing of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), a hardline Hindu organization. Bajrang Dal members accused “anti-national elements” of being behind the incident.

In response, the bank stated that it had hired a local technician to repair its Wi-Fi service, after which the network name was changed without authorization.

Police sources revealed that when investigators tried to contact the technician for questioning, he had already left the bank premises and switched off his phone.

Authorities have since registered a case and launched a search operation to locate the technician. However, no arrests have been made so far, and the suspect remains untraceable.
