Speaking later at a joint press conference with President Trump in Sharm El-Sheikh, the Prime Minister said it was an important day, and that peace in Gaza had been achieved after tireless diplomatic efforts.
The Prime Minister said that today marks a historic moment for Gaza, adding that Pakistan has nominated President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, calling him “the most deserving candidate for the award.”

President Trump appeared visibly pleased by the remarks, shaking hands warmly with the Pakistani Prime Minister. Smiling, he said into the microphone, “I didn’t expect this.”
Addressing the audience, Trump joked, “Let’s go home now, I have nothing left to say.” He also praised Shahbaz Sharif in return, saying, “Thank you, you spoke very well.”
Earlier, President Trump had referred to Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Asim Munir, as his “favorite Field Marshal” during a press conference in Sharm El-Sheikh.
“I thank Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif,” Trump said, “and I will say that my favorite Field Marshal Asim Munir — though he is not here — has also been part of this journey.”
President Trump described the Gaza peace agreement as a “historic achievement,” expressing gratitude to all the participating countries. “This agreement is a great success,” he said. “It was made possible through the cooperation of our friendly nations.”
