
Sharm El-Sheikh: The Gaza ceasefire agreement was signed by mediators Egypt, Turkiye, Qatar, and the United States.
Addressing the ceremony, U.S. President Donald Trump said the Gaza peace agreement would establish lasting peace in the Middle East.
Trump said that today marks a historic day, calling the Gaza peace agreement a great success made possible through the cooperation of allied nations.
The U.S. President added that such a successful day had never been seen before. He highlighted Egypt’s vital role in the Gaza peace agreement and praised the tireless efforts of the Emir of Qatar, calling them commendable.
He also thanked President Erdogan, describing him as a “great leader,” and said he was grateful for his Turkish counterpart’s friendship and cooperation.
Trump emphasized that the United States seeks lasting peace and stability in the Middle East and pledged to help rebuild Gaza together with international partners.
The President further said that the agreement document includes detailed rules related to Gaza and described it as comprehensive.
He noted that achieving the Gaza agreement was “the most difficult task” but expressed confidence that the recent accord between Israel and Hamas will prove sustainable.
Trump added that the issue of the return of the remains of Israeli hostages remains unresolved but assured that the U.S. would assist in efforts to locate and recover them in Gaza.
