Afaq Ahmed Slams PPP Over Separatists, Pushes for Sindh’s New Units

On August 18, 2025, Afaq Ahmed, Chairman of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement–Haqiqi (MQM-H), issued a bold statement condemning the rising tide of separatism and systemic bias in Sindh. Speaking from Karachi, he called for urgent reforms, including the creation of new administrative units, while criticizing the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) for allegedly supporting separatist elements.

Ahmed announced that MQM-H would fully back the federal government if it establishes new administrative divisions to address Sindh’s governance challenges. He expressed alarm over separatist groups openly chanting anti-Pakistan slogans, accusing the PPP-led provincial government of failing to act against them.

He also slammed recent operations targeting residents of Sagheer Center, calling them a clear case of ethnic discrimination. Ahmed argued that these actions reflect a broader pattern of marginalization, with urban populations consistently underrepresented in census counts, electoral delimitations, and government formation processes.

This systemic exclusion, he claimed, fuels unrest and undermines Sindh’s urban communities, particularly in Karachi.
