Forensic Tests Underway in Humaira Asghar Case as Murder Allegations Surface

The investigation into the mysterious circumstances surrounding actor and model Humaira Asghar Ali’s death continues. gaining momentum as police find new clues to unravel the questions surrounding her death.

Forensic samples found from the deceased’s apartment have been sent to the Karachi University Forensic Laboratory for analysis. Investigative sources reveal that a total of nine samples, including four collected during the postmortem and four from the apartment inspection, have been submitted for detailed examination. Among these, a blood sample from Humaira’s brother, Naveed Asghar, is included to facilitate DNA verification.

The 32-year-old actress’s decomposed body was discovered on July 8, 2025, during a court-ordered eviction due to unpaid rent, prompting a complex probe into the circumstances of her death, estimated to have occurred around October 2024.

The advanced state of decomposition has made determining the cause of death difficult, with forensic experts reserving their findings pending chemical, histopathological, and toxicology reports.

A recent petition filed by citizen Shahzaib Sohail in Karachi’s City Court, alleging possible murder, has led police to treat the case as a potential homicide, intensifying scrutiny of digital records, phone data, and witness statements.

The forensic analysis, including DNA confirmation, aims to uncover critical details about the environmental conditions and potential causes of Humaira’s death. Authorities are also examining a viral voice note from the actress, sent to a friend before her death, requesting prayers for her career, which has added an emotional aspect to the ongoing investigation.

The Sindh Police, under the direction of DIG South Syed Asad Raza, are leaving no stone unturned, with the landlord summoned for questioning on the evening of July 14.
