Pakistani actor Arslan Butt has issued a legal notice to fellow actor Mamya Shajaffar following controversial remarks made during a podcast interview that sparked widespread debate on social media. The notice accuses Shajaffar of making “false, malicious and defamatory allegations” that allegedly harmed Butt’s reputation and public image.

The controversy erupted after clips from the interview circulated online, prompting social media users to speculate about the identity of the actor under discussion. Following the backlash, Mamya Shajaffar clarified that her comments were directed at Arslan Butt, not at actor Arslan Khan, whose name was initially dragged into the controversy by online users.
According to reports, Butt’s legal team has demanded a public apology, removal of the allegedly defamatory content and compensation for reputational damage. The actor has maintained that the accusations are baseless and intended to malign him publicly.
The incident has reignited conversations around celebrity accountability, social media trials, and defamation laws in Pakistan’s entertainment industry. Several actors and commentators have also called for responsible public discourse, especially when discussing sensitive allegations without legal proof or formal complaints.
